The Scream Zone

Considering summer is just beginning in San Diego, locals may be spending their days on sunny beaches, or trying to find the worlds best taco. Meanwhile, for San Diego’s premiere haunted attractions, Halloween never ended. The twisted minds behind THE HAUNTED TRAIL OF BALBOA PARK and Del Mar’s THE SCREAM ZONE have been conjuring up their most diabolical haunting experience yet. BOTH attractions will be back this fall to quench Southern Californians thirst for spine tingling chills and scream worthy thrills.

With this being the 22nd season for the legendary HAUNTED TRAIL OF BALBOA PARK, and the 25th season for Del Mar’s THE SCREAM ZONE, each haunt is going places they’ve never been before. This year, THE SCREAM ZONE is introducing a brand new attraction to their already frightful catalogue of events. THE SCREAM ZONE WELCOMES ‘MIDWAY MADNESS’, a fully immersive Halloween themed carnival midway, packed with food, beverages, games, and more. Have your date hold your beer while you try to impress them with your AXE THROWING ability on one of the 4 clown themed lanes, or challenge a friend to Laser Ball, the trendy new glow in the dark Gel Blaster game. Whether you want to test your Zombie Apocalypse survival
skills in Virtual Reality, or try a more hands on approach with their new Zombie Archery using real bows and targets, there is a spooktacular activity for everyone.

THE HAUNTED TRAIL OF BALBOA PARKs 22nd season isn’t just a walk in the park. The Scary Tales Experiment Maze where all of your childhood fairytales take a dark and menacing turn, will have you clawing your way from its labyrinth. If you’re lucky enough to survive the creatures from the opening act, the main attraction will have you crying for your mommy. Each room you stumble into on your jaunt through the park, is straight out of a nightmare, each room more petrifying than the last.

THE HAUNTED TRAIL OF BALBOA PARK will be open to the public from September 22nd-October 31st, while THE SCREAM ZONE will be opened from October 5th-October 31st.
