San Diego’s longest-running haunted attraction is back for its 26th year, and this season the screams are louder, the creatures unhinged, and the trail spirals even deeper into terror. Returning with its legendary two part experience, guests will once again face the terror of the 3,500-square-foot eXperiment Maze before being unleashed into the infamous mile-long trail through Balboa Park’s foggy groves and cursed paths. If you think you’ve done it before, think again—this year’s trail introduces fresh horrors and warped creations that make this a must-scream Halloween tradition.
Your journey begins in blackness as you step into the eXperiment Maze—a realm of sensory deception and bizarre abominations, some familiar and some unimaginable. The eXperiment Maze is only the first gauntlet. Beyond it lies a portal that opens each October to lure you into a realm where nightmares live and breath.
As you brave the Haunted Trail, you’ll find everything from vile clowns roaming the slums of a forgotten circus, to chainsaw wielding nuns where the saws sing like a choir.
Assuming you make it out alive, don’t miss Midway Madness, an all new dark carnival scare zone where guests can catch their breath while having fun playing themed games, snacking from local food trucks, and exploring the Haunted Trail BOOtique gift shop. Midway Madness solidifies the Haunted trail as the perfect all in one halloween experience.
