At the Niles Scream Park, change isn’t just a season – it’s a lifestyle!
You’ve probably heard the phrase “you build it, they will come,” but around here, it’s more like “we build it, tear it down, rebuild it, light it on fire (figuratively), repaint it, restaff it, cover it in fog, and THEN they come screaming.” And we wouldn’t have it any other way!
Operating a 44-acre haunted attraction with seven main attractions, a midway featuring games, live entertainment, an outdoor movie screen, multiple gift shops, a food court, and enough fog to make London jealous, is no small feat (thank you Froggy’s Fog!). It takes a monstrous army of carpenters, makeup artists, prop builders, tech nerds, weirdos, screamers, dreamers, and a few people who have probably forgotten what daylight looks like to make the magic happen!
Our crew? We’re not normal. And that’s the best part.
From the outside, it might look like chaos, but beneath the madness is a tight-knit, dysfunctional family with one goal: to scare the YELL out of you!
Some of us are seasoned haunt veterans with foam-latex scars to prove it. Others are fresh meat, drawn in by the fog machines and the promise of free food, great culture and screams. But together, we become something more. We’re a well-oiled scream machine. A monster. A very loud, caffeine-fueled, Halloween-obsessed machine that somehow makes it all happen year after year.
We joke that as soon as the gates close for the season, we start building for the next one. That’s not a joke.
Every attraction gets reimagined. No two years are ever the same. We crave change like vampires crave… well, you know. We’re always tweaking a layout, upgrading animatronics, expanding scare zones, and asking ourselves, “What if the floor moved under their feet?” or “Can we safely drop a ceiling?” (Don’t worry, we ask the safety team. Always.)
You can’t build something this wild once and leave it alone. That’s not the Scream Park way. It must evolve, grow teeth, sprout new wings, and howl at the moon.
Being part of this team isn’t just a job—it’s a full-blown lifestyle.
It means mud-streaked boots and glitter in your hair. It means running lighting cables at midnight and naming skeletons like they are pets. It means screaming your lungs out for 5 hours a night and waking up ready to do it again. It means hot glue gun burns, 3-minute costume changes, and learning how to run in clown shoes.

But most of all, it means being part of something bigger than yourself. You’re not just building a haunted house. You’re building an experience—a night people will never forget. For some, it creates lifetime memories with both vow renewals, proposals and marriages!
The Scream Park is alive. It breathes. It evolves. It demands attention. And it only works because of the twisted, brilliant, wildly creative people who pour their heart (and often their fake blood) into every scare.
So next time you walk through our gates, just know: what you’re seeing is the result of months of madness, blood, sweat, tears, thousands of hours, and a family of creeps and creatures who live for Halloween… and for the joy of building something so awesome, people actually pay us to terrify them.
We built it. You came. You screamed. We’ll do it all again.
Because change never stops—and neither do we.
Come see it for yourself this Fall. Opening night is Saturday, September 6th. For tickets or more information, visit www.haunted.org
